Zoe's doing wonderfully. We had a great family doctor's appointment at Kaiser in San Rafael today which was productive for everyone. Zoe got checked out and weighed (down to 7lbs, 3 oz, as expected), I got my TDAP and flu shots which are apparently good/necessary when you've got a new baby in the house, and Melissa got some confirmation of what a great job she's doing. As a side note, I could not be any happier with Kaiser Permanente. We were thrilled with our labor and delivery and recovery hospital stay in Santa Rosa where we had SO MANY nurses, lactation consultants, doctors, midwives, etc. helping us, checking in, and offering assistance. At some points we even had two nurses working with us at the same time as well as the midwife, and two doctors. I can't say enough good things about them. Kaiser really seems to be doing healthcare right with their focus on treating the whole patient and preventative medicine.
In other news, Zoe's still looking beautiful. It's amazing how much more human she seems every day as she hiccups, coughs, sneezes, and yawns. She's even almost starting to look at faces and she lifted her head up for the first time today (albeit only a centimeter for about a second...but still...)
Also, the weather's been so beautiful since Zoe's birthday (and was so stormy on the way to the hospital), that I'm (un)officially declaring April 4th the beginning of spring. At least in our house.

When we returned from the hospital, our super-kind neighbors had chalked our driveway.
And the stork had left us a package!
Zoe pondering the mysteries of the world,
Playing funny faces with Daddy,
Demonstrating the amazing dexterity of her toes,
BIG yawn!
And doing her best Haka face.
